Charlemont Reggae Festival

The 2017 22nd annual Charlemont Reggae Festival takes place on Saturday August 26, 2017 at the Charlemont Fairgrounds. This festival showcases local and regional reggae inspired musical talent.

This year’s festival honors and celebrates the life and accomplishments of community elder, musician, artist, and festival co-founder Ras Jahn Bullock who passed from his physical form in April of this year. Some of Bullocks’ musical projects include Loose Caboose, The Alchemystics, Dave Noonan’s Green Island, as well as collaborations with a long list of regional and global musicians.

Headlining this year in tribute to his long time friend Bullock is Roger Steffens – Reggae historian, writer, lecturer, archivist, and esteemed Marley collector. Also featured are the Berklee College of Music – Bob Marley Ensemble led by famed Professor Matt Jensen, the Alchemystics, Dave Noonan’s Green Island, and many more.
