Ineffable Live and the Mateel Community Center present Bermuda-based reggae dancehall artist Collie Buddz on Saturday, December 9th with special guest Jesse Royal in an all ages show. Collie Buddz tours in support of his latest album Good Life, released earlier this year. The show takes place at the Mateel, 59 Rusk Lane in Redway beginning at 9pm, tickets are on sale now online for $30 through the mateel.org website.
Released in May, Good Life is Collie Buddz first full length album in a decade since the debut self-titled Collie Buddz released in 2007 that included the breakout hit “Come Around” as well as “Blind To You” & “Mamacita”. The album reached the Billboard Top 200 and was released on Sony Music. For Good Life, Collie Buddz released the album on his own Harper Digital imprint and enlisted some of the same producers that helped make his debut a success including Supa Dups (Rihanna, Drake, Bruno Mars) and Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor (Sean Paul, Shakira) special guests include Snoop Dogg.
The Good Life album is rooted in one-drop reggae and dancehall rhythms and as Collie Buddz explains, it is “a reflection of my life the last 10 years. When I first started making music never did I think it would take me as far as it has, literally around the world.”
Collie Buddz is joined on the Good Life tour by Jamaican reggae artist Jesse Royal who released his first full-length album on October 6th entitled Lily of the Valley on Easy Star Records. Recognized for his role in what has been termed the “Reggae Revival” in Jamaica, Jesse Royal has released a string of singles including “Modern Day Judas” which has received over 10 million YouTube views. The artist has appeared on many prestigious festivals including Boomtown Fair, Rototom, Cali Roots and Reggae on the River in 2016.
