The 23rd annual Sierra Nevada World Music Festival will take place on June 17, 18, & 19, 2016 at the Mendocino County Fairgrounds located in the heart of the enchanting Anderson Valley in Boonville, California.

The Sierra Nevada World Music Festival is Northern California’s premier roots reggae and world music festival.  This year’s initial list of reggae artists slated to appear includes the return of the Ivory Coast’s ambassador of reggae music, Alpha Blondy, who will be performing backed by his band Solar System. Jamaica’s own Don Carlos and Israel Vibration will also be returning to nice-it-up for the good people of Mendocino County.  This year will also feature the Boonville debut of Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry performing alongside the Subatomic Sound System. The sounds of “Brown Skin,” “Youths Dem Cold” and “Earth A Run Red” will be heard throughout the valley when Richie Spice takes to the stage this June. Known as the ‘bad boys of reggae,’ Inner Circle will be making their SNWMF debut as will songstress Alaine.

The always outspoken Pablo Moses will be bringing his fire-brand lyrics again this year. Having recently been included in iTunes’ “Best Albums of 2015,” New Kingston will be making their SNWMF debut.  Hailing from Italy, Mellow Mood will be making their first California appearance at this years’ festival as will the spiritual and soulful sounds of Etana. And SNWMF is pleased to announce the return of No-Maddz who delighted last year’s attendees. Finally, Jah Shaka will be returning to lay down some serious sounds in the dance hall.

A limited number of discounted Early Bird Tickets to SNWMF 2016 are available online and via mail order through February 28th or until all Early Bird tickets are sold, whichever comes first.  Children 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by a paid adult.  Limited on-site camping is available online for festival goers.

With 2 stages, along with a “Jamaican-style” Late-Night Dance Hall, SNWMF is a great way to kick off your summer. Our festival is very “family-friendly” because we offer an extensive array of children’s activities, including arts and crafts, bounce houses, dance & music workshops, a festival parade and family and alter-able camping. With its beautiful streaming colors and exotic aromas, the international festival village is an attractive marketplace of food and craft booths created by the collective efforts of artists, vendors, staff, volunteers and ticket buyers that has something to offer children of all ages.

The Sierra Nevada World Music Festival typically features dozens of the finest reggae and world music bands, and 2016 will be no exception, as many additional artists will be added in the coming months.  For additional information, please log onto www.snwmf.com.
