With 2016 finally coming to a close, J Boog has been working continuously into the new year. Aside from dominating tours and shows across the U.S and multiple international outlets, the final month of 2016 has proven that J Boog and his camp are a force that refuses to be ignored. Just two weeks after performing in Jamaica and on the 2016 Welcome To JamRock Reggae Cruise, J Boog and The Hot Rain Band traveled to the Marianas Islands to perform for the amazing fans of Saipan and Guam. Before they could make it to the Marianas trench the crew had a layover in Japan where they were blessed with the news that J Boog’s “Rose Petals EP” will be nominated alongside fellow nominees Ziggy Marley, Raging Fyah, SOJA, Rebelution, Devin Di Dakta & J.L for the Grammys 2016 Best Reggae Album Of The Year.
J Boog has yet again turned heads by being nominated for such a prestigious award that has been taken home by legendary reggae artists such as Jimmy Cliff, Steel Pulse, and Bunny Wailer. As well as Buju Banton, Peter Tosh, Stephen Marley, and fellow 2016 nominee Ziggy Marley. The Grammy nominated “Rose Petals EP” which includes legendary features by reggae sensations Chaka Demus who is featured on “Good Cry” and Stephen “Ragga” Marley who brings a mellow sound to the track “Good Feeling”. Rounding out the artists who are featured on the album is West Coast hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg who brings his smooth melodic style to “No Pressure”. The announcement of the Grammy nomination has come just in time, as J Boog will be kicking off the new year with a six week album release tour for his recently released album entitled “Wash House Ting”. The #WashHouseTingTour which is set to kick off January 12th, will include young reggae legends in the making JoMersa Marley and Jemere Morgan. A duo whose fathers Stephen Marley and Gramps Morgan have also respectfully taken home Grammys.
