It has been two years since the 19 year old vocalist and musician decided to pursue music professionally and he hasn’t turned back.
Since placing 4th in 2013 staging of local talent competition, Digicel Rising Stars, Kenny Smith has seen many doors open and has taken advantage of opportunities that have come his way.
His talent was discovered by then Judge of the competition, Craig ‘Craigy T’ Thompson and Kenny was immediately signed to Craigy’s GafJam Records Label.
“It’s just a great joy working with Gafjam Records. We take music serious but we enjoy ourselves same time. Craigy T is a really good mentor to me and I’ve been learning a lot from his own experiences” Kenny shared
Under the tutelage of Craigy T, Kenny Smith has been honing his talent and has produced quality singles. Singles including the recently premiered “RANGE ROVER” that has been gaining traction since its promotional preview release.
The “RANGE ROVER” single connects directly with Kenny’s own experiences “It is just a real life story, something from the heart toward my parents an all parents out there that haffi face struggles every day” Kenny explained
The “RANGE ROVER” single is the first of three tracks from Kenny Smith through GafJam Records that has copped a global distribution deal with Zojak Worldwide.
“I have fallen in love with his sound, I’m really excited to be a part of this project” Zoe Espitia of Zojak Worldwide explained
This Distribution deal with Zojak is more than the average deal with the company as well. Zojak will be employing all of their marketing and networking resources to promote Kenny Smith’s singles as well as his upcoming yet to be titled album.
Through Zojak Worldwide, the “RANGE ROVER” single will be officially released digitally On July 17, followed by the “STRONG LIKE A LION” single on July 24 and finally “FIRE BRIGADE” on July 31.
The Video for the “RANGE ROVER” single is in its final production phase as well, Kenny Smith hopes that through the video and single itself fans can connect with their own parents and family in general.
“I would want people to feel more connected to their parents after listening to Range Rover, it’s a real expression of Family Love that motivates all of us” Kenny added.
The actual video will hit TV and Online outlets later this month.
