Morocco – Reggaeton Star Sean Paul to Perform at Mawazine Festival

Sean PaulMaroc Cultures Association has announced the participation of Jamaican singer Sean Peal in the 14th edition of the Mawazine Rhytms of the World Festival. The star of Reggae and Reggaeton music will perform on Sunday May 31st, 2015 on the OLM Souissi in Rabat.

Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques, better known by the name of Sean Paul, was born in 1973 in Kingston, Jamaica. On March 28th, 2000, Sean Paul released his first album, Stage One, ranked number 2 in the category of “Reggae Album,” on the American Billboard magazine.

In 2004, Sean Paul won the Grammy Award for “Best Reggae Album” with his second album Dutty Rock, a worldwide success selling over 6 million copies. His third album, The Trinity, was ranked number one on the Hot 100 Billboard for 31 weeks.

Thanks to his album released in 2005, Sean Paul was nominated 4 times at the Billboard Music Awards in 2006. He also won an American Music Award for “(When You Gonna) Give It Up to Me.”

Sean Paul produced 6 albums during the course of his career, and sold over 10 million records around the world.

The 14 edition of Mawazine Festival which is scheduled to take place between May 29th and June 6th, 2015 in Rabat will also see the participation of Akon, Usher, American Pop Rock band Maroon 5, English Alternative rock band Placebo and Nigerian duo P-Square.
