Some people dream of success while others wake up and work hard at it. The same can be said for Dwayne Newby, a young man who hails from Spanish Town, in the parish of St Catherine, Jamaica. Better known by his stage name Rollie Fresh, the artiste strives to bring his unique edge to the music scene in the form of ‘edutainment’ for his fans. He not only seeks to entertain but also educate with his music.

Rollie Fresh continues to reap the accolades from his latest mixtape and video, “A Dis Dem A Fight Fah”, released in early of 2014. Consistent with his edutainment views, the 10 track mixtape speaks about several societal ills, in particular, the people who are fighting endlessly for a worthy cause. The video, directed by Dineiro Films features a cameo appearance from dancehall icon Bounty Killer.

Rollie Fresh has always had a love affair for music since childhood. In his early years, his burning love for music led him to enter many talent competitions, to include but not limited to, the Tastee Talent Show, Digicel Stars and Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall. He explains, “Need a quote here.. What drove you, what is your inspiration, etc”.

In 2003 Rollie formed the music group “77 Solid” and released the single _____. Since then, he has released a number of music videos for singles produced by his very own “Above The Average Records” such as; Wealthy, Leaders Nah Nuh Love and Neva Know/Good Life feat. Chronixx. The versatile artiste has garnered respect from insiders within the music industry, and has continued to make strides on the music scene with his songs and his production powerhouse and record label.

Rollie Fresh is a solid singer with music and creative writing skills to be reckoned with. He is consistently evolving in the entertainment and musical world. His songs speaks of every day life. This makes it easy for individuals to relate to his music.
