ELU THE DUST just released their brand new, 4-song EP “PEARLS TO SWINE”, on Lucent Records/Universal Music Group Distribution. The latest project features 4 eclectic songs including the hit “Party”, radio friendly pop-reggae tracks “Smile” and “Up To You”, as well as, the rocking “Jah Kingdom”.

Elu The Dust is one of Southern California’s best-kept secrets. Commanding an international fan base, Dereck Blackman, Elu The Dust’s front man, comes from a line of veteran musicians, including being the son of the creator of Soca, Ras Shorty I. Born in Trinidad, Dereck moved to California to pursue music. In the early 2000’s Elu the Dust was named Dominion Status and received rave reviews, primetime television placements, and awards. In 2014 Elu The Dust changed their name and added a brand new member, for a brand new, eclectic approach to their music.

Elu The Dust consists of vocalist and guitarist, Dereck Blackman, guitarist, keys and trombone, John Mcknight (Fishbone), bassist Kevin Smith (Fully Fullwood), and drummer Josh Tanner. The quartet has shared the stage with well-known acts such as Eek A Mouse, Fishbone, Yellowman, Barrington Levy, The Late, Dave Carridene, Wayne Wonder and Pato Banton and has been heard on the airwaves worldwide. Elu The Dust has also enjoyed the status of #1 Ska Band on ReverbNation’s Global Charts for over a year.

Elu The Dust brought the inexorable tides of fate together this year to create new music for their latest EP ‘PEARLS TO SWINE’, and is ready for the new chapter of their journey.
