April 21, 2016 will mark the 50th Anniversary of Jamaica¹s visit by Emperor Haile Selassie I, the last Emperor of Ethiopia. The impact of His visit affected the emergence of a global culture centered around roots reggae music and Jamaican culture. In honor of this momentous event, the global Rastafari community is coming together for seven days and nights of celebrations, culture and history, while building a blueprint for the advancement of Africa and the diaspora through GREEN development projects, and advancements in science and technology.
RastafariUnion will take place April 18-24, 2016. The MainStage will be held at White River Reggae Park in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. A speaker series, fashion show and other events will continue just down the river at the Shaw Park Hotel and Golden Sands Beach Resort, where live streaming will connect the event to the rest of the world. Celebrations will continue in Kingston, and throughout the island at intimate gatherings of the various mansions of Rastafari.
RastafariUnion is the largest and most significant gathering of Rastafari since Haile Selassie¹s visit to Jamaica in 1966. Every Rastafarian organization, from 12 Tribes to Nyabhingi Order, stand behind the project and lend their full support. It is a must attend event for Rastafari and roots reggae lovers world wide.
