RFG: Is this Live Wyya’s first album?
A: Back to the Roots is not our first album. We have previously released two albums before: Solid Meditation and Spread the Love
RFG: What are some of Live Wyya’s major achievements?
A: We are the first group to have won the Irie FM big break competition and the global battle of the bands locally. We also have received the JFM award for best show band for five years in a row and a few Martin’s international reggae and world music awards just to name a few.
RFG: What are some of the biggest shows that Live Wyya has performed on?
A: We have performed on most major shows: Rebel Salute for twelve years, Reggae Sumfest, Sting, Rototom Festival in Spain, Irie Jamboree in NY, Japan Spash, Reggae on the river, Love Fest in St Lucia, Sierra Nevada Music Fest just to name a few.
RFG: How would you describe Live Wyya?
A: Live Wyya is a roots rock reggae group of high inspiration, high energy and positive music.
RFG: What make Live Wyya different from other groups?
A: The unity, the brotherhood and the love, that we have for the music and each other goes beyond what words can explain.
RFG: How did Live Wyya get started?
A: Live Wyya was formed at the end of 1999, by Carl Edwards and Arnaldo Bolt.
We, the Live Wyya members all know each other from the hotel circuit and having the same goals and dreams propelled us to keep Live Wyya moving forward.
RFG: What kind of music does Live Wyya listen to?
A: Even though we are a roots rock reggae group we draw inspiration from all genres.
RFG: What is Live Wyya’s mission and aim?
A: The mission is to carry on the legacy of our past pioneers of reggae. That is to inspire, educate and spread the love and joy of positive music. Our aim is to uplift all age and nation people from all over the world is a positive way
RFG: Where are some of the countries that you’ve performed in?
A: Just to name a few places – USA, Canada, Africa, Japan and the Caribbean.
RFG: Who are some of the artist that inspired the band?
A: Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, Burning Spear, Culture, Buju Banton, Gregory Isaacs and James Brown just to name a few.
