New Akae Beka album – LIVING TESTAMENT Releases February 16, 2024 

The voice of Midnite and Akae Beka, Vaughn Benjamin, was one of the best and most prolific reggae vocalists of the modern era. He was a scholar, poet, teacher, and solver of mysteries. A voracious reader, he was incredibly creative – constantly writing poems and songs. Those close to him advise that he had a photographic memory. This helps explain the broad field of topics he discussed with precise detail in his work. He released over 75 albums in a 25-year period.

“LIVING TESTAMENT” is the final album Vaughn Benjamin recorded before his transition in early November of 2019.  In late October of 2019, Vaughn had travelled to Grass Valley, California, where he recorded this 11- track masterpiece. It was recorded at the Trinity Farm Studio over a two- day period.  Manuel “Go A Chant” Guerra was at the controls. With a selection of powerful riddims composed by Denfield “Ras Pulse” Potter, Manel “Go A Chant” Guerra, Walker Pillow, Scott Lynwood Davis, Befekadu Assefa and Tuff Lion, Vaughn was able to create another timeless album. It iss not only a masterpiece of roots music but also a living testament to Vaughn’s incredible work…

LIVING TESTAMENT includes the single ‘Who Will Go For Us’ which was released on January 6th 2024 with a video filmed on location in Ethiopia.
