Over the course of the last week, the
organizers of iJAM Music Fest have had several meetings regarding iJAM Music
Fest and the current state of affairs throughout the country and the world.
Four days ago, Governor Ron DeSantis placed the State of Florida on an official
Medical State Of Emergency. Furthermore, many large-scale events across the
nation are cancelling resulting from the growing concern for their attendees.
Though it is an incredibly tough
decision to make, the organizers of iJAM Music Fest have decided it is best to
postpone the event, stating, “Based on Governor Ron DeSantis’ decision to
place the State of Florida on an Official Medical State of Emergency, we’ve
decided to postpone the festival because our patrons, artists and staff are of
the highest priority”. As information comes in daily, we recognize the
growing concern and more importantly the concerns we all have for our families.
We are planning for a future date in cooperation with our amazing partners to
have an incredible multicultural music festival for the City of Orlando and
visitors coming from around the world to enjoy.
The organizers, GRAMMY winning and
globally recognized Morgan Heritage d/b/a Heritage Concerts Inc., have been in
constant communication with their corporate partners. They have heard their
concerns regarding this issue, as many of them are global brands.
“In consideration of what our sponsors
are dealing with across the world, this has only added to our decision to
postpone the event. As the organizers, we want to be thoughtful and prudent
while being sensitive and responsible towards our attendees, which included
international visitors from around the world. We have taken into consideration
the international implications, as Orlando is one of the most visited places on
earth. More importantly, as residents of Central Florida and parents to a child
with major respiratory issues, we as Morgan Heritage could not in good
conscience continue to encourage families to travel at this chaotic time”.
