St. Petersburg has long been a welcoming city for reggae and reggae-rock talent. But it hasn’t quite seen anything like what’s coming in March.
The fourth annual Reggae Rise Up festival at Vinoy Park is expanding to three days in 2018, and the full lineup is out now. Rebelution will kick things off on Friday, March 16;Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley headlines on Saturday, March 17; and SOJA will close things out on Sunday, March 18.
Other big-name bands on the bill: Nahko and Medicine for the People, Matisyahu, Tribal Seeds, J Boog, Easy Star All Stars, RDGLDGRN, Ozomatli, the Expendables, Collie Buddz and more. In all, there are nearly 30 bands linedup, including locals like Resinated, Badda Skat and No Need.
Many of these acts are big enough to headline (and sell out) Jannus Live locally, and even larger venues nationally. So getting them all in one place at once is an impressive feat, and one that’s likely to draw thousands of fans for one big, long weekend of tunes and grooves by the bay.
At the moment, three-day tickets start at $90; two-day tickets at $60 and single-day tickets at $45, though all three price tiers will rise as the festival approaches. Click here for ticket info.
Here’s the lineup for all three days:

Saturday, March 17: Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Matisyahu, J Boog, Ozomatli, Mike Love, Iya Terra, Tropidelic, Jungle Man Sam, Zander, No Need, Badda Skat
