International roots reggae artist Warrior King Releases New Video for “I-Niversal Light”
Warrior King, (Mark Dyer, born 1979), was born in Kingston, Jamaica on 27 July 1979. He is a Jamaican reggae singer known within the Caribbean and internationally for his music. His lyrics focus on messages about education and upliftment of women. He just released the official video for his single entitled “I-Niversal Light” . It is a call-to-action to encourage people to read more books and harness the power of reading, especially about their own African Culture.
Warrior King is known as a staunch “roots” reggae artist leading with his musical inspiration for I-Niversal Light from the successful “Jah Rise Riddim.”
The riddim produced by Machete Records was released in April 2023. It features other top artists including Sizzla, Richie Spice, Lutan Fyah, Yaadcore, Bopee & Ginjah.
Like many successful Jamaican entertainers, Warrior King gained his earliest stage experience in talent shows. “At first, I started out with school concerts,” he says. “I used to do some combinations with a youth named Marlon Stewart, his stage name at the time was ‘Likkle Blacks’ and mine was ‘Bounty Junior’. My partner and I performed at the Tastee Talent Show among others and then really started getting exposure and gain experience.”
