High Hopes Band

High Hopes is a conscious roots reggae band with strong influences from many of the foundation artists like Dennis Brown, Pablo Moses, The Gladiators, Gregory Isaacs, & The Abyssinians. Their blend of musicianship, creativity, and tradition move audiences of all ages with a feel-good, uplifting vibe.

The spirit of the music and the spirit of the herbs are one.  Our role as roots reggae artists is to carry this spirit and inspire the people. We’re here as instruments for the cause, and that cause is raising the vibration of the planet.  We can all see the sickness in this society, and we know the suffering globally under Babylon’s system.  Reggae music is a powerful tool for transformation and has always been the most powerful advocate for the decriminalization and the freeing of the herbs. Reggae has been at the center for decades now, from Tosh onward—Rastafari are the original international force, starting in Jamaica and spreading globally with the messages of justice and righteousness, with profound respect for the healing aspects of this sacred herb.  This has deeply inspired and motivated us as musicians.

In 2018 Bassist Julie Feola visited Judgement Yard for a session which culminated in the band releasing a single with Sizzla Kalonji, written by lead singer Tony Davies, titled “Taken Souls”.   They’ve been honored to share stages across the Northeast with artists such as Ziggy Marley, Freddie McGregor, Morgan Heritage, Anthony B, Protoje, Maxi Priest & Midnite.  The band has toured the East coast and had 4 successful consecutive tours in the U.S. Virgin Islands. In 2015 they were presented with the “Best in State” award for Massachusetts by the New England Music Awards. Their newest EP “Blessed to See the Light” is out on all digital platforms now.
