“Island Roots & Culture Festival is a creation that spawned from growing up on the West Coast
& being exposed to Pacific Island culture and Reggae music.

After relocating to Central Texas some 10 years ago we noticed a musical void
& a bit of separation among different styles of Reggae.

We began throwing Reggae shows ranging from Roots to Ska to Cali Reggae
to Pacific Island Reggae and more. Reggae shows with artists like J. Boog, Katchafire,
House of Shem and The Steppas were VERY well attended!

We quickly saw the demand and wanted to create a festival
for the people who love Pacific Island Reggae.

We thought it would be amazing to not only highlight Pacific Island Reggae
but Island Reggae in general.

That is why the line-up is very diverse & represents music from Jamaica,
New Zealand, Hawaii, the states and more!

We also wanted to add more depth with the showcasing of food and dance
for a more authentic experience.

UNITY was the main idea when Island Roots Fest was conceived.
It was born out of love and respect for culture and music.
Island Roots & Culture Festival has been a work in-progress for nearly four years.

Episode Phive is SO thrilled to be bringing this experience
to San Antonio, TX on 9/29 & 9/30.”
