Run For Cover
Skajamz is the brainchild of Fred Campbell. Fred was there at the start of the ska movement in the late fifties playing drums for Derrick Harriott, Prince Buster, Owen Grey, Winston Francis and many others. This band has a strong rhythm section and horns soaring into the night. They play the upbeat infectious rhythms of ska, a genre that’s popular all over the world.
Run for Cover is the first single by Skajamz, penned by his boyhood friend Trevor Lopez. This is old school Ska in a modern setting, designed to get you dancing. It’s a must to add to your ska collection.

Meet the Band
Devon James – Guitar Player
Devon is from Montego Bay, Jamaica and as a promising guitarist, he was much sought after to play in bands in the hotel circuit on the north coast. This is where he first met Fred. Although their musical paths were seperated, they have again united to form Skajamz. He has traveled extensively for over twenty years with the Skatalites, an internationally known Ska band, touring the USA, Europe, Asia, South America, Russia, Australia and New Zealand. Devon is the heartbeat of SkaJamz. The band features a number of his compositions and is a showcase for his unique guitar style.
Fred – Manager, Arranger
Fred started playing while he was still in high school. He played with a couple “hotel” bands until he got his big break with Carlos Malcolm. Things really took off. He recorded with most if not all of the upcoming stars of the day, Prince Buster, Owen Grey to name a couple and played for the visiting R&B stars like Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson and the list goes on. Today he manages Skajamz, a Ska band playing traditional Ska from the 60’s. A mix of veterans and young pups, this band is destined for great things.
Orlando Haddock – Trumpet
Raised and educated in New York City, Orlando received a Bachelor’s from City College in NY. In the coming years he went on to get his Masters in jazz improvisation and composition at Hunter College also in NY. Here he studied under the famous bass player Ron Carter. Not satisfied, he continued his studies at Berklee College of Music Online, delving deeper into jazz improvisation, fundamentals of rehearsing music ensembles among other topics. He has travelled and performed in London, Paris, Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain and the list goes on and on. Orlando Haddock, modest and confident, is and inspiration to Skajamz and to all who come in contact with him.
Josue Aristyld – Trombone
Josue is a Florida native, son of Haitian parents. His dad introduced him to music and the piano at an early age. Through to high school he sampled a few instruments, but it was the trombone that captured his imagination and earned him a scholarship to FAMU. There he became part of the world famous Marching 100 as trombone section leader. While there, he also played on shows for stars like Rick Ross. Raheem DeVaughn and Doug E Fresh. Josue Aristyld holds a BS in music. This landed him jobs in the Broward County School System as band director at Gulfstream Middle School and assistant band director at Branch Ely and Hallandale High.
