HOME AGAIN

The founders of LA’s Premier Roots Reggae and World Music Event prove you CAN go home again. Reggae on the Mountain has been a successful and popular family-friendly, community-driven music and cultural event for years. In celebration of the 12th Reggae on the Mountain, there’s big news. “We’re so excited to have the opportunity to celebrate our Homecoming as our Reggae on the Mountain Festival returns to Topanga Canyon for our 12th edition of Reggae on the Mountain,” exclaimed Brooks Ellis and Amit Gilad, co-founders of the popular Reggae Festival and co-owners of event company, Label 27.

BEGINNINGS

It all started with humble beginnings at a nighttime creek jam where Topanga Canyon natives Brooks Ellis and Amit Gilad first met. The two became fast friends, started a band called “The Chiefs” and began throwing shows. The duo dreamed-up an event that would come to be one of the highlights of Southern California’s reggae scene — Reggae on the Mountain.

Brooks and Amit added, “We invite you to celebrate LA’s #1 homegrown Reggae Festival at our original home and location in Topanga Canyon for the Reggae on the Mountain XII on August 17, 2024.”

Label 27’s Reggae on the Mountain festival takes roots reggae into Topanga Canyon for a fabulous day and evening of music from international stars and heavy-hitting local and regional bands. Thousands will attend this year’s festival. Over the years, ROTM has hosted big-name acts including Ziggy Marley, reggae/dancehall DJ Yellowman, Julian Marley, original Black Uhuru member Don Carlos, Toots & The Maytals, Kymani Marley and the Easy Star All-Stars.
