US$10 million target set for ‘Together We Stand’ telethon

Culture Minister Olivia Grange has set a target of US$10 million to be raised from the upcoming Together We Stand telethon, geared towards the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The event, which is set for Sunday, April 12 will see entertainers, sports personalities and others joining forces to raise funds to purchase personal protective gear and equipment for frontline workers. Telethon Jamaica: Together We Stand will stream live onVP Records’ YouTube channel. The telethon feed will also be rotated across various regions of the world so that all members of the diaspora and other well-wishers will be able to view and make donations.  A portion of the broadcast will also be carried live on TVJ, 1spotmedia.com, and other platforms across the diaspora.
