“Andru Branch & Halfway Tree make internationally recognized reggae music of the highest order.” – Halifax Jazz Festival
Award-winning Canadian recording artist Andru Branch named his band Halfway Tree after the bustling music district in Kingston, where he has recorded and performed with many of Jamaica’s most celebrated musicians. Branch recorded his Juno-nominated debut album with members of The Wailers, his critically acclaimed second album with Ziggy Marley’s rhythm section and his brand new album Step Into The Dub with the Halfway Tree reggae band, featuring legendary Studio One bass player Brian Atkinson.
“Sounds like the Marley inspired tunes all the world has come to know and love.”
– The Sunday Herald, Kingston, Jamaica
Awarded “Inspirational Recording of the Year” at the 2012 Music Nova Scotia Awards for his third album Step Into The Light, Branch’s four-album discography boasts multiple award nominations, including two ECMAs for “World Recording of the Year”. Andru Branch is currently in pre-production for his forthcoming fifth studio album and accompanying full-length documentary film, featuring a host of Jamaica’s foundation reggae musicians.
“This band rocks, and would go down a storm on the European festival circuit.”
