“A St Mary Mi Come From”, the annual stage-show promoted by cultural artiste, Capleton, remains committed to charitable endeavours.
From the inception, the event has been devoted to giving back in a meaningful way and this year, the organisers say they have even bigger goals.
“When Capleton started ‘A St Mary Mi Come From’, it was always with the intention of having the event getting bigger and better each year as we demonstrate unity as an artistic community and spread the love. We take this opportunity to thank those artistes who reserve the date for us every year and never ask for a dollar. And we can’t leave out the all the others who work with us to make the show happen.” chairperson of the planning Committee, Claudette Kemp told the Jamaica Observer.
According to Kemp, the event has definitely grown. She explained that “A St Mary Mi Come From’ is now recognised as one of the most anticipated calendar events locally and that from as early as February the buzz gets started.
“The event is viewed by young artistes as a platform to showcase their talent, and this is the way we intended. Plus, the proceeds are used to bring to life our targeted projects for that year. And sometimes we even get involved in things that we didn’t plan for,” Capleton’s manager said.
The proceeds from the annual event are donated to local hospitals & schools. Tickets are available at the gate on the day of the show.
