The reggae world has suffered a heartbreaking loss: our beloved Toots (Toots and The Maytals) didn’t make it after being sick in hospital. Hibbert’s songs include the classics “Pressure Drop,” “Funky Kingston,” and “Monkey Man,” 54-46 Was My Number” and many more. Toots was a Ska and Reggae Legend Who led the Maytals and coined the word “reggae.”

Toots was always the gentleman; always friendly, and always gave the best performances. He brought so much joy to so many around the world with his music and soulfulness. He never got full credit for being the SUPERSTAR that he was. Reggae LEGEND Frederick ‘Toots’ Hibbert has died. He passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020 at the University Hospital of the West Indies at the age of 77. Rest in Power. One Love Mr. Hibbert.
