HISTORY

The first Reggae on The River was held in 1984, and it was last held in 2018. For many years Reggae on the River brought together artists and festival goers from all around the world. It helped to build the Mateel Community Center and the Humboldt County community at large into the vibrant center of culture that it is today.

There have been some obstacles along the way but we, the volunteers, staff and Board of Directors of the Mateel Community Center are so excited to announce that Reggae on the River will be happening again this year. So please come join us in celebrating this gift of music and togetherness!

THE VENUE

The County Line Ranch located at 240 Cooks Valley Rd Piercy, in Humboldt County, California is largely flat and partially wooded. It has ample space for both the event and for onsite vehicle parking. This spacious property allows for a more generous fairway layout for vendors, performers and attendees. It is a great option for these people that make up the festival experience.

We will produce the same event as you already love, but better, as we can now have the option to spread out. This, combined with the ability to have a quality river access experience, while keeping the music going later into the evening, provides an overall improved experience for everyone.
