LYRICS
Vrs1
I need you to commit
To another type of consciousness, yea
Jah Jah gave me gift
Every man should fight to uplift, yea
Brother to brother
There is two sides to discover
Will one another
Look through the eyes of another, yea yea aa yea aa
Chorus
Brother we’ve got to come together, we got to come together
You and I have got to find a way, we got to find a way
Sister it’s now or never
We’re running out of time today
Vrs2
I need you to admit
To a higher form of empathy
Jah Jah gave me gift
Everyone should fight to uplift, yea
Mother to mother
There is two sides to consider
Will one another
Look through the eyes on another, yea
Be aware
Bridge
No more war, no more misunderstandings
No more wife in a double bed waiting
At all costs we must avoid it
Innocence fading
No more war, no more miscommunications
No more child without a parent
At all cost we must avoid it and learn to live with one another
Chorus
Brother we’ve got to come together, we’ve got to come together
You and I have got to find a way
Sister it’s now or never, to find a way
We’re running out of time today
We’ve got to find a way
Got to find a way, heayeah
We’ve got to come together
We’ve got to find a way…

Acclaimed Maori reggae rockers KATCHAFIRE have released soothing new single “Commit”. The song carries a powerful message about human connection, empathy, and peaceful resolutions.
According to lead singer Logan Bell, “Commit” encourages individuals to choose life, love, and understanding: “This song is about humans making a commitment to each other to choose life, communication, love and understanding, overall. A commitment to treating others how you would like to be treated. To have the empathy to look through another’s eyes and come to peaceful resolutions…. Imagine a future where we commit to avoid violence and war, at any cost? If I had one wish, it would be for us all to get along. No matter our indifference! In the words of one of my favourite Bob Marley quotes – “If puss and dog can get together, why can’t we love one another?”
Speaking about the beautiful cover art for the single, Logan said,
“I have an affinity toward the NZ native and extinct Huia bird, and the beauty of its characteristics. I had seen the image back in 2016 and thought it great as a cover for our album LEGACY, but my search to find the artist came up empty. Then in another attempt to find the artist, a friend put the search out on her social media page “Buy Maori Made”, and this time, the artist reached out. Acquainted with our guitarist, Wiremu, and fellow artist, i was fortunate enough to meet the very talented artist, and long-time fan of Katchafire, Victor Te Paa. As it turns out we are both fans of each other’s work.”
