Morgan Heritage Presents: “Mountain Song” Honoring Late Brother & Bandmate Peetah Morgan
Jamaica Love EP out August 29
GRAMMY Award-winning artist and founding member of reggae royalty Morgan Heritage, Mojo Morgan, is set to release his first body of work following the ascension of his late brother, bandmate and collaborator, Peetah Morgan.
Mojo’s most personal and genre fluid project to date, Jamaica Love, will be released on August 29 via Vydia. Pre-save the EP here.
MOUNTAIN SONG
As the son of reggae legend Denroy Morgan, Mojo grew up immersed in reggae culture and honed his craft alongside family members with deep roots in the genre. Leading the EP is the “Mountain Song” bleeding into a heartfelt collaboration between Mojo, his brother Gramps and son Esh.
The track channels the storytelling, acoustic textures and a grounded spirit of music that speaks to both heart and land. After the loss of Peetah, the song took oN a deeper meaning and became a visual homage to their roots in the hills of St. Thomas, Jamaica, while the mountains symbolize resilience, legacy, and the quiet strength passed down through generations. “Mountain Song” blends acoustic soul, country, gospel harmonies, and reggae roots into a crossover anthem that pays tribute to family, heritage and home while staying grounded in authentic Jamaican spirit.
Rooted in reggae but infused with country, Americana, and global rhythms, the EP not only blends genres but generations into a timeless sound with no borders featuring collaborations with Gramps Morgan, Popcaan, Sizzla, Maino, and Mojo’s own children and nephew making it as much a family celebration as it is a cultural statement.
RASTA ROCK
Jamaica Love EP celebrates resilience, love, and heritage through a series of collaborations that showcase his unique “Rasta Rock” sound, a fusion of reggae, rock, hip-hop, country, soul, and pop shaped by the lyrical depth of Bob Dylan and Peter Tosh, the raw spirit of 2Pac and Vybz Kartel, and the emotional textures of Coldplay, The Cranberries and Phil Collins. It’s a lane of his own, global, grounded and full of heart.
Mojo recently appeared on BBC 1Xtra, BBC Radio London and performed at major festivals across Europe, including the Reggae Land Festival at the MK National Bowl earlier this month. With international support, a multi-platform ad campaign, and deep cultural ties to Jamaica and the diaspora, Mojo Morgan is set to bring a fresh wave of reggae fusion to the global stage.
With Jamaica Love, Mojo Morgan continues to honor the past while pushing reggae into a bold, new era; as an artist, entrepreneur, and visionary voice for the culture.
On the release, Mojo Morgan shares, “Jamaica Love is more than music, it’s a message. It’s legacy, healing, and the soundtrack for anyone who’s ever had to fight for their dream.”
