KINGSTON, JAMAICA — Tad’s Record continues its celebration of Jamaican music and the artistes who have shaped its evolution with the release of Reggae Jammin Vol. 6, a 17 track various artistes collection released in October 2026.
Produced by Tad A. Dawkins and Tad A. Dawkins Junior, the sixth installment of the Reggae Jammin series brings together generations of Jamaican music on one project, moving between roots reggae, conscious music, lovers rock, deejay culture and the unmistakable rhythms that have helped carry reggae around the world.
SPECIAL SINGLES
Leading the promotional campaign are two recordings that speak directly to reggae’s history and continuing influence: “In Memory” by Anthony Cruz and Brigadier Jerry and “Unite Brotherman” by Dennis Brown and Ranking Dread.
On “In Memory,” Anthony Cruz and veteran deejay Brigadier Jerry pay tribute to the late U-Roy, one of the pioneering voices of Jamaican deejay culture. The recording immediately establishes its purpose with a dedication to “Daddy U-Roy” before drawing on the familiar spirit of his celebrated Wear You to the Ball.
MELODIC DELIVERY
Cruz’s melodic delivery is met by Brigadier Jerry’s unmistakable deejay style, as the recording reaches back into Jamaica’s sound system tradition and acknowledges some of the personalities and musical expressions that helped define an era. More than a remake or nostalgic exercise, “In Memory” feels like a conversation between generations, honouring the foundation while allowing that musical language to live again.
The second focus track, “Unite Brotherman,” brings together two late reggae greats, Dennis Brown and Ranking Dread. Brown, whose extraordinary catalogue earned him enduring recognition as one of reggae’s most important singers, is paired with Ranking Dread’s energetic deejay delivery on an extended roots selection carrying a message of unity.
Its inclusion on Reggae Jammin Vol. 6 gives a new generation of listeners an opportunity to encounter the chemistry between the singer and deejay traditions that became integral to Jamaican popular music. At the same time, long-term reggae followers are given another reason to revisit voices that remain deeply embedded in music’s history.
THE COLLECTION
The collection reflects the label’s continuing commitment to both preserving Jamaica’s musical catalogue and creating space for reggae to remain relevant to contemporary audiences. Rather than separating reggae’s past from its present, Reggae Jammin Vol. 6 places them side by side, highlighting the continuity of a music that has constantly reinvented itself while remaining rooted in Jamaican culture.
From the unmistakable voices of Dennis Brown, Ranking Dread and Sugar Minott to established contemporary performers including Richie Spice, Chezidek, Jesse Royal and Hezron, the album offers a broad snapshot of the music across generations.
Reggae Jammin Vol. 6 is available across major digital music platforms worldwide.
